I feel as though one should become a blogger when one has a certain topic to blog about. Folks have food blogs, hair blogs, "I'm funny" blogs, mommy blogs, etc. Since I have no certain blopic (that's my combo of "blog" & "topic"...it works) to write about, I'm going to not call this a blog. This is my 2012 livejournal. Ahhh the livejournal! Get ready, ya'll!
I went to the tanning bed today for the first time in about 7 months. The little girl proceeded to call me pale in every single way you could possibly think of more times than I can count in the 5 minutes we spoke. I went for 8 minutes in a 20 minute bed. "Oh, that's nothing!" you're all thinking, right? Well, you should tell that to my thighs, face, & shoulders. Granted, I took the dog on a 30 minute walk in the 86 degree heat, so I shouldn't blame all of this on the tanning bed, but I'm gonna.
It was also "Maggie pick bad cashier to go to" day. I may smile at you, but that in no way gives you the right to become a Chatty Cathy. Call me unfriendly all you want. I just do not care for strangers. I can't even get into the Wal-Mart cashier I had today. She was not happy to be working during Palm Sunday. Also, she is Catholic. These are all things I shouldn't know.
Our mailbox is in pieces on our front porch right now. As much as I wish this were an April Fool's joke, it is not. We did find out that the culprit is a friend of my sweet boyfriend Keith's who apparently should not have been driving last night. We're grown ups. I don't have time for this. Just thank God he's safe. When Keith called to ask him about it, his response was "I don't remember doing that, but it was probably me."
Now, this wouldn't be a huge issue for a lot of people. I love Lowe's & would loved to have spent my Sunday picking out a new mailbox today. Sadly, we live in one of those neighborhoods that require every mailbox to be the same. I guess along with being thankful that the mailbox hitter is safe, I am also thankful he didn't destroy anyone else's mailbox. I'm very mad about this mailbox.
Last night marked my 2 year victory in our March Madness work pool. I have made the decision to not play again next year. Not only do I feel as though I should end this on a good note, I don't wanna get involved again next year & get last place. I've never been what you would call a "winner." I've never had the best luck with anything, so me winning this pool not just once, but twice, seems like the biggest fluke in the world. I do love basketball & I can honestly say that I'm not a girl who just chooses teams based on what mascot she think is the cutest (because I would have UCONN winning all the time... that Husky is ADORABLE). I need to get out of this while I still look awesome. "Oh yeah, I won that twice. It's whatever. I'm the rainman of March Madness." I won $240. Suck it!
I have lasagna in the crockpot, the smell of bleach embedded in my nose, no mailbox, & a burnt butt. I love Sunday's so much.
